“Harmony emerges when

differences find balance.”

Statement

Driven by my love for the human spirit, the ocean, nature, and the vibrancy of city life, the subject matter of my artwork often captures a single spontaneous moment that moves me. I am inspired by the way light plays with shadow, how tranquility juxtaposes with edginess, and how order exists within chaos. These beautiful contrasts challenge me to create work that is both visually and emotionally stirring. Ultimately, the harmony I’m striving for is about connection — the way each component resonates and interacts within the painting. My goal is to create pieces that are not just seen, but felt. It’s the heartbeat of a painting that I hope will enchant the viewer and stir the imagination.

Bio

Debby Scherer is a California based fine artist inspired by her personal photographs. She uses them to create compositions that push beyond realistic imagery in a way that connects to her soul.

Scherer’s technique is influenced by her extensive global experiences. She lived in Germany for 28 years of her adult life, honing her skills through study in prestigious European art academies and intensely focused mentorships under renowned artists. One of her biggest lessons from these years of training is that “harmony in an artwork is about connection” and it is her job to celebrate how each component of composition, each element of design, resonates and interacts within a piece.

It is important to first create something that deeply matters to her – and the connection to the viewer follows when the work is truly authentic. Her work is in the homes and offices of private collectors in North and South America, Asia, Middle East and across Europe.
